August was always going to be red. It’s my birthday month, red makes me happy.
Not a Christmas red. More the colour of sun-baked terracotta walls, warm evenings, dusty streets and the last proper stretch of summer before everyone starts pretending they like pumpkin spice.

Sienna feels exactly like that.
Confident. Warm. Slightly mischievous.
Travertine headed in the opposite direction, cool stone, quiet luxury, the sort of colour that never tries too hard because it doesn’t have to.
I’d pictured this campaign beside an impossibly glamorous swimming pool.
Instead… we had a paddling pool.
Very Anti Diary.

Armed with inflatable lilos of every kind, including a duck and a pink flamingo, along with an unreasonable amount of determination, I spent most of the day trying to persuade two diaries to stand upright on floating cup holders. They absolutely refused.
In the end, the heroes of the day turned out to be tiny bits of plastic left over from the kids’ water balloons, which I shoved inside the lilos to stop everything collapsing.
It mostly worked.
Sienna still threw themselves into the water several times.
By the end of the shoot, they’d both taken a proper battering, but once we started filming the slow-motion splashes, I knew it’d all been worth it.
It wasn’t the luxury pool shoot I’d imagined. It was better. It was ANTI. Slightly chaotic. Slightly ridiculous. Slightly brilliant.
